Once again I didn't get much reading done this week, with the exception of a magazine. Monday through Thursday was filled with moving my furniture into a storage unit, Friday I had to say goodbye to my husband and got on the road to Michigan that same day. Thankfully we have arrived and can now get back to focusing on school a little better than I have been able to. I read a magazine called, "Natural Solutions". I found some really good and healthy recipes; honey lemon chicken, artichoke dip, grilled radicchio salad. When I'm good and settled in at my dad's house I plan on trying a few of them out. There was also a good article on The Healing Power of Kale. I brought my juicer with me to get my dad on a juice fast and one of my favorite vegetables to juice is kale. The article discusses health and suggests the root cause of all chronic diseases is what we eat, I agree and love eating healthy, I asked my dad to schedule a physical with his Doctor before he starts his juice fast then one after to see the benefits of fruits and vegetables. I can't wait to see the difference this will make! I hope everyone had a great weekend!!

A little bit of everything
This week has been so crazy and busy for me so unfortunately I didn't get quite as much reading done as I would've liked to. First off I read an article about drug addiction. "Cocaine Almost Killed Me" about Christina Huffington and her addiction to cocaine. It never seizes to amaze me about how drugs can just completely ruin peoples' lives, I have known a few drug addicts and I always try to keep my little sister informed about everything. I also started a new book I picked up from a garage sale. For 25 cents you can't go wrong! " The Eternal Kiss: 13 Vampire Tales of Blood and Desire" by, Libba Bray, Rachel Caine, Melissa de la Cruz. I'm obsessed with Vampire Diaries so I figured I would give it a shot! I didn't get very far before passing out, with all the packing for my upcoming move Friday and all of my homework, I'm beat! So far the first story is about a vampire girl named Moth, she was turned at the age of eighteen by a vampire named Theo. Moth is sired to Theo and therefore is extremely attracted to him and will do what he says. Theo asks her to go to a known vampire hunters house to steal an urn filled with the ashes of an old and powerful vampire, when Moth goes to the apartment to collect she is surprised to be greeted by the vampire hunter's son and is being tortured. That's as far as I got, I don't think reading is in my future tonight but hopefully I will be able to pick it back up tomorrow night!

Big Girl Panties
Well, I finished this novel and was very satisfied! We left off when Logan came to Holly's home to console her. Logan and Holly began to spend lots of time together as friends, and the perks to being a friend to someone like Logan? The star treatment. Logan's best friend, Chase, is a star baseball player so Holly starts going to the games with his wife, Amanda, and Logan. Amanda and Holly quickly became friends and started shopping together since Holly began to swim in her clothes. Although Holly wasn't the skinny model type, she started to really look amazing and it was time to show it off. Holly began spending more time flaunting and trying to get Logan's attention more and more. Finally, at the gym during a workout session it happened! Not so smoothly at first, Logan spanked her(once you read the book you can find out why) Holly was appalled and slapped Logan and then they began to kiss and ended up doing a different kind of workout on the gym floor. From that moment on Logan and Holly spent every waking moment together, inside where no one could see them. Was Logan embarrassed of Holly and her chubby figure or was he reluctant to face his changing ways from the models he's used to dating? I don't want to spoil anything for any of you who may pick this one up but I will tell you this novel wasn't just about a love story. It's about facing your past, loving yourself and accepting change. I loved it and would definitely recommend this one!

"Big Girl Panties"
Once again, I started a new book. Maybe having a lot on my mind is preventing me from thoroughly enjoying a good book lately (my husband deploys to Afghanistan August 7th) but while in target last night I came across "Big Girl Panties" by, Stephanie Evanovich. I LOVE this novel so far and believe I will be able to finish this one, actually I haven't been able to put it down! The book is about a women, Holly, who had lost her husband two years ago and found food helped her cope with her depression. She was lonely, fat, and her appearance had become quite sloppy then she sat next to Logan on a plane. Logan was a personal trainer for the rich and famous athletes. As Holly describes, he is ridiculously good looking and way out of her league. While on the plane together he ends up offering his services to get her happy and healthy, turns out she's really determined and looking better with each workout. Four months into her training, Holly has a break down and calls Logan in the middle of the night, he rushes to her house finding a truck load of sweets on her table and takes her for a run. Later he finds out the real problem, she was cleaning out her late husband's closet. Logan spends the whole night consoling her and getting to know who she really is, she hasn't offered any personal information about herself up until that point. A love story is definitely brewing! I can't wait to get back to it, I think I'll have it finished by the next blog. Now, back to reading with short breaks for packing up the house in between!

Wow, coming back from a month long vacation has really got me all out of sorts! I think I need a vacation from my vacation.
While in Michigan I start to read "Fifty Shades of Grey" for the fourth time. I can't help it, I'm obsessed! Unfortunately I forgot this book at my dad's house and didn't have anything to read on our 15 hour car ride! It was awful. On a side note, I really hope Ian Somerhalder plays Christian in the movie (if you don't know him look him up, you will fall in love).
So we got home late Wednesday and I started to read a random book I found in my closet on Thursday called, "As Husbands Go" by, Susan Isaacs. *Caution, don't leave this book on the table because you husband will think you are planning his death since there is a picture of a casket in a Hurst on the cover. The book starts off with the narrations of a women, she's a mother and talks about her own beauty and brains for most of what I have read so far. She quite college to marry a plastic surgeon and threw away her dreams of becoming a landscape architecture for being a wife and a mother. Something tells me she's going to kill her husband, I don't know maybe by the title. I'm not sure yet if I will continue to read this one, I'm going to the beach today and will be reading in the sun, if it doesn't catch my attention by the end of the day then I will be on the search for a new one!

Well my first full week of being back in Michigan has been so crazy, hectic and busy. From getting school work done to throwing a going away party for my husband. I had the pleasure of baby sitting all the wonderful kids in my life that I've missed so much, I have read numerous books to my nephew Landon, my girlfriends new baby Taylor, and of course to my own little one. Landon takes two naps a day and insists that I sit and read with him before each one, and his bedtime. I just love that little guy. This week should be a little more calm and relaxing so I will be setting some time aside for my own reading, time to relax! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

A camping we will go...
Well this week I put my book, "The Choice" on hold. In just a few short hours we will be on our way to home sweet Michigan! Miss Olivia's first request? Camping in Papa's back yard. In preparation for Olivia's camping trip she had the idea to go to the library and find all the books she could about camping. How can you say no to such a sweet request?! Off to the library we went and found a lot of great kids camping books. A few being, "Good Night, Animals" by Lena Arro, "Duck Tent" by Lynn Berry and Hiroe Nakata, and Miss Olivia's personal favorite, "Olivia Goes Camping". Now Olivia knows how to make smores and also what sort of animals come out at night. I love that she looks to books for information, it made me really proud when she came to me with this idea! Now she's so close to going to Papa's house, pink tent in tow along with her Thomas the Train lantern.
